Report: White Sox add C Joey Bart in deal with Braves

Mandatory Credit: Charles LeClaire-Imagn Images Catcher Joey Bart was traded for the second time in six weeks on Monday, with the Atlanta Braves sending him to the Chicago White Sox an hour before the trade deadline, multiple outlets reported.
Chicago will ship right-hander Duncan Davitt to Atlanta in return, according to MLB.com.
The Braves acquired Bart from the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 18 in exchange for right-hander Hunter Stratton.
Bart, 29, played in 21 games for the Pirates and 20 games for the Braves. On the whole, he has batted .226 and hit four home runs with 13 RBIs across those 41 appearances.
In seven MLB seasons with the San Francisco Giants (2020-23), Pirates (2024-26) and Braves, Bart is a .238 hitter with 32 home runs and 126 RBIs in 376 games.
The White Sox optioned Davitt to Triple-A Charlotte after his second career appearance Sunday. Davitt, 26, made his MLB debut on April 10 and has pitched two innings of relief with one run allowed. At Triple-A, he is 4-3 with a 6.22 ERA, 64 strikeouts and 25 walks over 21 games (10 starts).
